Greenwood Village combines quiet, upscale neighborhoods with one of the metro area’s biggest job centers. Just south of Denver along I-25, it offers large homes, top-rated schools, miles of trails and an easy commute. Here’s what to know about living in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

Location and commute

Greenwood Village is a city in Arapahoe County with about 15,700 residents (2020 census). It includes part of the Denver Tech Center (DTC), home to major employers and corporate offices, so many residents can be at work in minutes. I-25 and I-225 run through the area, and RTD light rail stations along I-25, including Orchard and Arapahoe at Village Center, connect to downtown Denver and the airport line.

Neighborhoods and homes

West of I-25, you’ll find established neighborhoods with large lots, mature trees and custom homes, some with room for horses. East of I-25, near the DTC, there are newer single-family neighborhoods, townhomes and condos. Greenwood Village is known for luxury homes, but there’s a range of styles and price points depending on location.

Schools

Most of Greenwood Village is in the Cherry Creek School District, which is headquartered in the city. Cherry Creek High School is the largest public high school in Colorado by enrollment. A portion of the city is served by Littleton Public Schools, so confirm the schools for any specific address.

Parks, trails and entertainment

Greenwood Village has an extensive network of trails, including a stretch of the historic High Line Canal Trail, plus parks such as Westlands Park and the Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve. Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, an 18,000-seat outdoor venue, hosts concerts all summer.

Things to consider when buying

  • Older custom homes on large lots may need updates. Plan for a thorough inspection, including the sewer line and roof.
  • HOAs vary widely. Some neighborhoods have strict architectural rules; others have none.
  • Location within the city matters. Homes near the DTC offer convenience, while west-side properties offer more space and privacy.
